Pretty much the best wedding cake idea ever.

My friend Sharon is a trained sculptor.  And it comes to find out people aren’t commissioning busts of themselves quite like they did when the pharaohs were in charge and that’s good news for you because…Sharon is now sculpting cakes.  She has been for a while now.  Her website is www.sweetbeacakes.com and she’s a bike ridin’, gorgeous, mom of two artist in JP.  What’s not to love.

Anyway, my friend Sara had her baby shower this weekend and I brought the cake.  I told Sharon what Sara did for a living (2nd grade teacher), what she wore to her classroom (sweater sets and flats), and what she did in her free time (beach bum and cooking show lover).  I sent her photographs of Sara and told her she loved red velvet cake.

The rest, my little love nuggets, will be told in photographs:

Don’t get a traditional cake for your wedding unless you absolutely want to.  Wouldn’t it be like waaaaay cooler if you had a really funny, personalized, and DELICIOUS cake by Sharon? Justsayin.

enjoy.
