Adorable adorable Caitlin and Noah got all married at the Boston Public Library this past fall. They are what we might refer to as a really damn good looking couple. They’re also super sweet and kind and have amazing families and super fun friends. It started raining 5 minutes before their ceremony and Caitlin and Noah didnt skip a beat. Those are the kinds of people we want to photograph all year long. rain? what rain… Im about to marry my soulmate. Nothing is stopping that. They had an awesome party and everyone was on their feet. Oh, and then Noah, Caitlin, and her brother picked up a few instruments and ended the night in the band. #girlcrush Thank you guys. we had such a blast.
I held back (read: procrastinated) on a couple of shoots until the winter so you’d have something to check out during our slower season! When I was probably 19 years old I was the manager of an urban clothing store and Leanne walked in looking for a job…. she’s been one of my best friends since. She’s been there for me through hard times and I am forever grateful. So when she called me and told me she was getting married, I was absolutely psyched!! She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and somehow managed to find the other nicest person you will ever meet, Greg, and they fell in love. To say these two are perfect of each other would be an understatement. It never ceases to amaze me to see two perfectly fitting puzzle pieces find each other in a sea of other jumbled puzzles. They are both exceptional writers as witnessed by the lack of a dry eye during their vows, mine included, thanks auto-focus! They had the whole shindig at the Giving Tree Gallery in Sandwich, MA. This a cool little spot with a house attached and a back yard overlooking the marsh. There are outdoor sculptures everywhere and a path with a rope bridge winding through the woods with more sculptures along the way. They had their ceremony in a smaller wooded sculpture garden not far from the bridge. At the end of their ceremony they ran off for a few minutes on their own and I got to see that moment of absolute joy when they realized that this was all real, they were married!! They followed that up with brick oven pizza, good music, great friends, amazing families, and some karaoke…. it was the perfect party.
I could not be happier that the the two of you found each other, and get to spend your lives together!!
I’m getting caught up on some long overdue blogging, as seems to be the theme here this week!
Julia and Scott are absolutely awesome!! They’re getting married at the Exchange Center in the seaport this June and I can’t wait!! If we had this much fun on an engagement shoot, I can’t even imagine what their wedding is going to be like….. stay tuned, you can see for yourself in July! When it came time to choose a place for their shoot, the answer was obvious, the North End. They had their first dates there, they lived there together and it was the backdrop for the origins of their love story…. done! When you’re in someone else’s backyard, you let them lead. I got a tour of all their favorite places and the stories that went with them, crossed paths with more than a few people they were friends with, flipped off an old landlord ( technically it was just the building, but he was probably in there ;)……. oh yeah…. and we took some photos!….ok, we took a ton of photos! We were having such a blast the shoot ended up being twice as long as we planned, which just meant we got to play at night some. Julia made a joke about being down to go into the fountain, you can’t make jokes like that around me, cause you will end up in the fountain! They had absolute trust in every crazy idea I had and they were down for anything, I couldn’t ask for more!! Thanks Julia & Scott, I’ll see you in June!!
I’ve been searching for the words to try to talk about Joe and Tory since I shot their wedding in November. I mean, that’s a slight fabrication, I pretty much talked about how great their wedding was for a solid month and then talked about it some more, and then procrastinated my ass off on blogging. But here she is. the #joetorylovestory
Ok. Joe and Tory hired Alexis from The Little Things as their wedding planner. Is she the raddest chick on the planet who took care of everything you could possibly imagine? yes. she is. Their wedding was held at the cyclorama in the South End. Ever been there? It’s an enormous circular event space right in the middle of the south end. Between Tory, (Joe), and Alexis they transformed this place into one of the coolest weddings we’ve shot. They had games, a slow mo booth, tattoos, moscow mules, dancing, softball, and their own friends as the MC for the night. I feel like I went to an event. An extremely well planned event… I should have bought tickets or something.
So I could go on and on talking about the wedding of the year but I can only do it justice to tell you about Tory and Joe. Gaawwwwddd I don’t think Ill ever do them justice. Joe is tall and handsome and so unbelievably kind, and his family was awesome and funny and I just kinda sorta want to be adopted into the Rothwell family. Tory? First of all take a long hard look at her dimples. They’re the most perfect dimples on planet face. Thankfully for the rest of this world I dont think Tory has stopped smiling since she met Joe, and that’s the only Tory we’ll ever know. So genuinely happy and pleasant and the kind of person that you want to be around every single day. Lucky Joe. I love and admire these two so very very deeply. Thank you guys so much. Hurry up and make some gorgeous tall blonde babies so I can photograph the shit out of them 😉 xoxoxoxooxoxooxooxoxxox and a couple more xoxox’s.
So you’re dreaming of your fairytale wedding, you’ve looked at magazines, you’ve made pinterest boards, and attended 1000 weddings and have the thing all planned. Let me tell you what it looked like… it looked like Leah and Miles’s wedding. There’s this place, the Lord Thompson Manor, that is the wedding mecca. I don’t exactly know what that means, but it it’s the wedding venue of all wedding venues. If you don’t know about it, look into it yesterday. It’s an old historic manor with amazing grounds and yard games attention to detail everywhere you look.
Leah and Miles did everything right. And their parents did everything right raising them. We feel incredibly fortunate to have photographed such a gorgeous wedding with two absolutely amazing families. Everyone was kind, generous, warm, welcoming, funny, and fun. Thank you guys so much. we had such a blast.
