Chris and Crystal. A Martha’s Vineyard wedding.

I’m going to admit that I feel super super lucky I was able to photograph this wedding. Tara was out of town which means not only did I get to shoot with the famous Ben Wight but we got to go to Martha’s Vineyard for the weekend. (sorry T)

This wedding was a highlight of my season. and career. and I’m speaking for Ben when I say it was his as well. We have photographed a lotttttt of weddings, and often get asked what we would do for our own. Well, I’d have Chris and Crystals wedding. Simple as that. I actually want to marry them both. what? Here’s why. There was approximately 80 people on the vineyard celebrating their love which means every one of them was very close to their heart. Not a single person was from New England, so it was a weekend (or week) getaway for them all. They rented a huge ass gorgeousssssssss house and set up a wedding right there in the front yard. Their ceremony was given by a brother and was hilarious and sweet and perfect. They both looked like absolute rock stars. Their flowers were perfect and simple, and guess what, they made them. The food was in stations so not a single person was sitting more than 5 minutes once the music started. I could go on and on and on, but there are pictures to see.

Chris and Crystal thank you so much for including us in your day. Crystal, you are gorgeous, chill, funny, laid back, humble, and down right awesome. I am so psyched to have spent your very favorite day with you. Chris, I know you like it when I swear, but this is for the public eyes. But really, I f***ing love you. You and your 17 tuxedo jackets, you look good in all of them. All your friends?! Gawwwwdd I hope we see you crazies again. Thank you. love. swipe right.

Caitlin and Noah. Married at the BPL

Adorable adorable Caitlin and Noah got all married at the Boston Public Library this past fall. They are what we might refer to as a really damn good looking couple. They’re also super sweet and kind and have amazing families and super fun friends. It started raining 5 minutes before their ceremony and Caitlin and Noah didnt skip a beat. Those are the kinds of people we want to photograph all year long. rain? what rain… Im about to marry my soulmate. Nothing is stopping that. They had an awesome party and everyone was on their feet. Oh, and then Noah, Caitlin, and her brother picked up a few instruments and ended the night in the band. #girlcrush Thank you guys. we had such a blast.CaitlynNoahSML002CaitlynNoahSML004CaitlynNoahSML018CaitlynNoahSML021CaitlynNoahSML023CaitlynNoahSML040CaitlynNoahSML051CaitlynNoahSML078CaitlynNoahSML087CaitlynNoahSML107CaitlynNoahSML117CaitlynNoahSML122CaitlynNoahSML137CaitlynNoahSML143CaitlynNoahSML153CaitlynNoahSML162CaitlynNoahSML166CaitlynNoahSML173CaitlynNoahSML174CaitlynNoahSML203CaitlynNoahSML211CaitlynNoahSML219CaitlynNoahSML223CaitlynNoahSML264CaitlynNoahSML272CaitlynNoahSML372CaitlynNoahSML384CaitlynNoahSML529CaitlynNoahSML445CaitlynNoahSML551CaitlynNoahSML492

Leanne & Greg: one of my best friends marrying her best friend!

I held back (read: procrastinated) on a couple of shoots until the winter so you’d have something to check out during our slower season! When I was probably 19 years old I was the manager of an urban clothing store and Leanne walked in looking for a job…. she’s been one of my best friends since. She’s been there for me through hard times and I am forever grateful. So when she called me and told me she was getting married, I was absolutely psyched!! She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and somehow managed to find the other nicest person you will ever meet, Greg, and they fell in love. To say these two are perfect of each other would be an understatement. It never ceases to amaze me to see two perfectly fitting puzzle pieces find each other in a sea of other jumbled puzzles. They are both exceptional writers as witnessed by the lack of a dry eye during their vows, mine included, thanks auto-focus! They had the whole shindig at the Giving Tree Gallery in Sandwich, MA. This a cool little spot with a house attached and a back yard overlooking the marsh. There are outdoor sculptures everywhere and a path with a rope bridge winding through the woods with more sculptures along the way. They had their ceremony in a smaller wooded sculpture garden not far from the bridge. At the end of their ceremony they ran off for a few minutes on their own and I got to see that moment of absolute joy when they realized that this was all real, they were married!! They followed that up with brick oven pizza, good music, great friends, amazing families, and some karaoke…. it was the perfect party.

I could not be happier that the the two of you found each other, and get to spend your lives together!!

Julia & Scott: a North End love story

I’m getting caught up on some long overdue blogging, as seems to be the theme here this week!

Julia and Scott are absolutely awesome!! They’re getting married at the Exchange Center in the seaport this June and I can’t wait!! If we had this much fun on an engagement shoot, I can’t even imagine what their wedding is going to be like….. stay tuned, you can see for yourself in July! When it came time to choose a place for their shoot, the answer was obvious, the North End. They had their first dates there, they lived there together and it was the backdrop for the origins of their love story…. done! When you’re in someone else’s backyard, you let them lead. I got a tour of all their favorite places and the stories that went with them, crossed paths with more than a few people they were friends with, flipped off an old landlord ( technically it was just the building, but he was probably in there ;)……. oh yeah…. and we took some photos!….ok, we took a ton of photos! We were having such a blast the shoot ended up being twice as long as we planned, which just meant we got to play at night some. Julia made a joke about being down to go into the fountain, you can’t make jokes like that around me, cause you will end up in the fountain!  They had absolute trust in every  crazy idea I had and they were down for anything, I couldn’t ask for more!! Thanks Julia & Scott, I’ll see you in June!!
