OK, so I just found out how to correctly spell their names, but the stupid American way to pronounce their names is: ‘Esther and Lefteri’.
We don’t even know where to start with how spectacular this wedding was….
Getting ready with line dancing, live music, Greek moonshine ( we think?), and lots of family. Blissful chaos!!
Arriving at the ceremony: ON HORSE BACK!?!?!?!?
Ceremony: Holy Cross Greek Orthodox church in Brookline, MA with so many new and different traditions and beauty.
Formals: At sunset with the horses at Jamaica Pond and then Memorial Drive.
Reception: Nightingale Inn in Wenham, MA with many, many lambs.
Party done by: The one, the only Jessica with The Social Butterfly
Here we go:
Whipped while getting ready? How awesome is that.
So, it was kindof hot. with the line dancing and whatnot.
Live music in Esther's dressing room.
E getting choked up at the first sound of the Greek music. She was crying so I started to cry. You'd think I'd toughen up by now.
L? Not as much choked up as tipsy. weeee. weddings are fun!!
Mom helping her son get in his gorgeous Greek Groom Get Up.
Alcohol coming out of a clear jug means fun.
One of the many reasons I love Esther. Calm and cool as she gets dressed. Notice the full-on party going on in her room.
One of many cool traditions: writing the names of the single women at the wedding on the bottom of the bride's shoe.
hurt me pretty.
L's friends escorting him to the horse that will take him to the church.
Like a limo. But better.
Side saddle to the church.
Esther's dad escorted her to L who was waiting outside the church for his bride, surrounded by their guests.
The emotional giving away of the bride.
E and L walk into the empty church and their guests follow in behind them.
SO many super cool traditions. Like this one: taking on and off the wedding rings, switching hands, switching back. Then switching again. And again.
Having gold crowns put on their heads. And you guessed it: switched, then switched again. And again.
This is the part when God came in through the skylight.
YIKES! And then off to Jamaica Pond with the horses. hurt me.
Esther is pretty.
And then the horse ate her. I knew this was going to happen. Can't you see the evil in that horsey eye ball?
Memorial Drive and the best light of the year.
So hatefully gross it crosses deeply into awesomeness.
This happened all...night...long.
You've dreamed about this, haven't you.
